Regular worming is essential for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. Worms can easily spread to other pets and humans, posing a particular risk to children. Our vets are here to recommend the best worming treatments for your pet. We suggest the following worming programmes for puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats:
Kittens can be wormed from two weeks of age. We recommend monthly worming until they are six months old. After this, their worming needs should be reassessed and tailored to suit them. Speak to one of our vets to find the best worming protocol for your kitten..
Puppies can be wormed from two weeks of age. We recommend monthly worming until they reach six months old. After that, their worming needs should be reassessed and adjusted as needed. Speak to one of our vets to find the best worming plan for your puppy.
Cats should be wormed at least four times a year. However, if your cat is a hunter, we recommend monthly worming with a product that also protects against tapeworm.
Dogs should be wormed at least four times a year. However, if they are considered at risk of lungworm, monthly worming may be recommended for full protection..
Daily worming is recommended from day 40 of pregnancy through to two days after whelping or kittening, to help prevent infection of the unborn young.
