Our independent veterinary practice in Winkleigh delivers compassionate and expert services for a wide range of companion animals. As well as housing the small animal team, it is also the head office for the West Ridge Equine team.
The branch is modern, purposefully designed and equipped with comprehensive operating and x-ray facilities as well as an in-house laboratory for diagnostics. Additionally, we offer acupuncture services and have a vet that has a special interest in treating companion chickens. Our Winkleigh branch is also working towards IFSM Cat Friendly Status and offers separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, alongside separate kennels for each. This branch features a spacious carpark and is fully accessible for wheelchair users.

Our Winkleigh branch is recognised as a hen friendly practice. We value chickens as pets and welcome them regularly from across the South West and beyond when they need surgery or if they become unwell.
One of our senior veterinary surgeons, Marcella Perversi, is passionate about chickens and has a special interest and knowledge in chicken care, with lots of experience in treatments and surgeries on the species ranging from egg peritonitis to treatment of impacted crops. Marcella has been one of the main contributors to the recently published PVG Poultry Veterinary Guide, in collaboration with the British Hen Welfare Trust. Marcella is very proud of her pioneering clinical and surgical work with the hens.
