Principal Vet and Director of West Ridge Veterinary Practice Ltd.
Dick Sibley has over 30 years experience in veterinary practice in Devon. Now mostly involved with clinical work on farms, he also spends a lot of time running the business and providing consultancy services to farms around the country. He has received awards from the RABDF, RASE and BCVA as well as an Honorary Fellowship of the RCVS for services to agriculture and the veterinary profession.

Stephen Powles is a general practitioner and has a wealth of experience in all areas having worked in the area for 25 years. He mainly deals with companion animals working from our Tiverton practice. Stephen has a particular interest in wildlfe photography, and spends his nights following the otters of Mid Devon.

Marcella Perversi MRCVS

Marcella joined the practice in October 2009. She has several years experience as a general practitioner and is now a dedicated small animal vet with a special interest in birds and chickens in particular. She is one of a handful of vets in the country who are able to spay chickens.

Gordon joined West Ridge in 1984 as a new graduate, and then later left for a long spell with the Hong Kong Jockey Club working with the race horses of the Far East. He is now back and leads our team of Equine Veterinary Surgeons, as well as maintaining his enthusiasm and interest in farm work.

Alix Freeman BVSc MRCVS

Alix joined the practice in September 2008 after qualifying from Bristol University. Alix enjoys work as a general practitionner, and has led our sheep projects as well as working as a small animal vet in our Tiverton practice.

David joined West Ridge with the amalgamation with Acorn Vets, and has a wealth of experience in cattle health in the area, having been practising here for many years. David takes an interest in all species, including the camelids, and has expertise in complimentary medicine including homeopathy.

Andrew has long experience of farm animal healthcare in the area, having lived and worked in Winkleigh for many years. There is nothing Andrew cannot deal with, and his patience and empathy with clients’ needs is hugely valued.

claire_davies Claire Brooks BVSc MRCVS

Claire joined West Ridge in 2008 having worked as an intern at Bristol University after qualifying in 2007. Claire is developing a special interest in the farm animal work in the practice, and now provides whole herd medicine and fertility management to some of our largest and most productive dairy herds.

john_shiles John Shiles BVetMed MRCVS

A Lead vet at West Ridge and a son of a dairy farmer, John has a long interest and experience in cattle health. He has been at West Ridge since qualifying in 2001, and now takes a lead in routine herd health and fertility work on various farms within the practice.

Geoff_Witherow Geoff Witherow BVM&S MRCVS

As a lead vet at West Ridge, a GP Certificate in Equine Practice gives Geoff an extra qualification and a special interest in horses, with particular expertise in equine fertility and lameness. Geoff also has expertise and experience in farm work, and has been at West Ridge since qualifying in 1999.

Anna joined West Ridge in January 2013 having gained considerable equine and farm experience in Devon . Anna has a particular expertise with horses, working with the West Ridge Equine Team, as well as providing her enthusiasm and experience for the farm work.

Mary is a general practitioner, now working mostly from our Winkleigh branch and building her experience and expertise with all species. Mary knows Devon well, and her enthusiasm is always appreciated by cleints and staff.

stephoperating     Steph Massey
Steph joined West Ridge along with Mary in 2011 as a graduate from the  new Nottingham Veterinary School. She has quickly settled in to West Ridge and helps in all aspects of the varied veterinary work her in Mid Devon.

Harriet graduated in 2012 and is now well established as an enthusiastic and energetic member of the West Ridge Veterinary Team. Harriet spends most of her time on farms and with horses, gaining experuience and using her veterinary training to best effect.
